About the company:

Over millions of years, silicate rock weathering has regulated Earth’s climate. By crushing silicate rocks and spreading them on agricultural soils - an approach called Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) - we can accelerate Earth’s natural process into a solution capable of addressing the urgency of climate change.

Existing agricultural and silicate rock sites - namely 5,000+ global silicate rock quarries surrounded by agricultural land - have the potential to remove billions of tonnes of CO2 with enhanced rock weathering. Despite this potential, ERW hasn’t scaled given the extraordinary scientific, technological, and operational challenges involved. Terradot, founded out of the Stanford ecosystem, is addressing these challenges by advancing the science, building the technology, and assembling the coalition needed to make this potential a reality.

We’ve started in Brazil – one of the world’s most optimal locations for ERW thanks to its tropical soils, strength in agriculture, and clean electricity grid. There, we are building the most ambitious ERW hub to date. This hub will drive the necessary breakthroughs in ERW science, ensuring every tonne of carbon dioxide removed is measured and tracked with certainty.

These insights will power digital tools for the optimization and verification of carbon removal projects, enabling the replicability of these hubs globally If successful, this approach will uniquely and rapidly catalyze global-scale carbon removal, enabling the transformation of [300] such quarries in Brazil and [5,000+] global quarries into carbon removal hubs.

Terradot has assembled a growing team of leading scientists and engineers with decades of published research (over 100,000 citations on ERW) and hands-on expertise in related fields, providing unmatched experience to drive advancements in ERW.

We are seeking a Farmer Engagement Manager to serve as the primary point of contact for farmers participating in our ERW programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with farmers and stakeholders. This role is pivotal to ensuring successful implementation of ERW practices and fostering long-term partnerships with the farming community.

Location: Near Dourados (MGDS), Assis (SP) or Maringa (PA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Farmer Outreach & Relationship Building - Establish and maintain strong relationships with farmers and agricultural partners in the region of operations (Northern Parana, Southern Sao Paulo and Dourados MGDS). Communicate the benefits of ERW, including carbon sequestration, soil health improvements, and crop productivity gains.

  • ERW Program Implementation - Work with farmers to plan and execute rock applications on their fields, ensuring alignment with cropping cycles and farm operations. Coordinate logistics for rock delivery, application, and monitoring in collaboration with the Operations Team.

  • Education & Training - Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, and educational materials to farmers about ERW processes and benefits. Address farmer concerns, answer questions, and provide on-site support as needed.

  • Data Collection & Reporting - Collaborate with the SciOps team to collect field data, including soil and crop management practices. Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of field activities.

  • Community Engagement - Act as a liaison between the company and local agricultural communities, ensuring that farmers feel supported and valued. Represent the company at agricultural events, conferences, and local meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 3+ years of experience in farmer engagement, agricultural extension, or a similar role.

  • Strong understanding of soil science, crop production systems, and sustainable farming practices.

  • Familiarity with farm management systems (e.g. FieldView, Auravant).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.

  • Experience in managing field projects and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in data collection, reporting, and basic analytics.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to farming sites.

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of Enhanced Rock Weathering, remineralizers or similar sustainable agriculture practices.

  • Familiarity with agricultural technologies and data platforms.

  • Experience in managing large-scale agricultural projects or trials.
