About the company:

Over millions of years, silicate rock weathering has regulated Earth’s climate. By crushing silicate rocks and spreading them on agricultural soils - an approach called Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) - we can accelerate Earth’s natural process into a solution capable of addressing the urgency of climate change.

Existing agricultural and silicate rock sites - namely 5,000+ global silicate rock quarries surrounded by agricultural land - have the potential to remove billions of tonnes of CO2 with enhanced rock weathering. Despite this potential, ERW hasn’t scaled given the extraordinary scientific, technological, and operational challenges involved. Terradot, founded out of the Stanford ecosystem, is addressing these challenges by advancing the science, building the technology, and assembling the coalition needed to make this potential a reality.

We’ve started in Brazil – one of the world’s most optimal locations for ERW thanks to its tropical soils, strength in agriculture, and clean electricity grid. There, we are building the most ambitious ERW hub to date. This hub will drive the necessary breakthroughs in ERW science, ensuring every tonne of carbon dioxide removed is measured and tracked with certainty.

These insights will power digital tools for the optimization and verification of carbon removal projects, enabling the replicability of these hubs globally If successful, this approach will uniquely and rapidly catalyze global-scale carbon removal, enabling the transformation of [300] such quarries in Brazil and [5,000+] global quarries into carbon removal hubs.

Terradot has assembled a growing team of leading scientists and engineers with decades of published research (over 100,000 citations on ERW) and hands-on expertise in related fields, providing unmatched experience to drive advancements in ERW.

Location: São Paulo, with availability for travel to project sites

About the Role

Terradot is seeking a commercially minded, process-driven Land Sourcing & Commercial Operations Associate to supercharge our pipeline of land opportunities for Enhanced Rock Weathering projects.
You will be at the heart of our growth engine, qualifying, prioritizing, structuring, and executing (and closing) leads, while ensuring our commercial team is equipped with the right tools, data, and processes to close opportunities efficiently.

This role blends business development mindset with data and process discipline, enabling Terradot to scale land enrollment to meet ambitious climate impact targets. You’ll act as the bridge between market-facing teams, tech, and operations, making sure every lead is well-documented, analyzed, and ultimately, closed.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline & Lead Management

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve a centralized CRM of land opportunities.

  • Qualify and prioritize leads using defined business and agronomic criteria, ensuring the commercial team focuses on the highest-value opportunities.

  • Conduct pre-screening of leads to validate potential before commercial team visits.

  • Map agricultural zones and create geo-targeted opportunity lists to guide market penetration strategy.

  • Close leads effectively, iterating on pipeline criteria and management to get to 70% success rate by your first year.

Commercial Operations Enablement

  • Implement and optimize CRM systems, dashboards, and sourcing tools for efficiency and scalability.

  • Develop and standardize commercial process tools (e.g., intake forms, checklists, contract tracking templates).

  • Provide reporting and insights to leadership to support decision-making and pipeline forecasting.

Market Engagement Support

  • Support outreach campaigns, events, and relationship-building activities with farmers and local partners.

  • Maintain communication records and track follow-up actions to ensure no opportunity is lost.

Background and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Production, Agricultural Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial operations, business development support, farmer engagement, or agricultural project management.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple relationships and commercial workflows simultaneously.

  • Strong skills in data collection, CRM management, and opportunity analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes for sales or sourcing teams.

  • Demonstrated track-record of land/farmer-enrollment success

  • Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments with minimal oversight.

  • Familiar with commercial processes, basic contract handling, and legal documentation workflows for cooperation with large enterprises.

Personal Attributes

  • Relationship Builder: Builds trust quickly with farmers, partners, and internal teams.

  • Structured & Proactive: Anticipates needs, organizes work clearly, and stays ahead of deadlines.

  • Commercially Savvy: Understands value drivers, opportunity sizing, and prioritization in a sales context.

  • Practical Problem-Solver: Finds workable solutions to operational or market challenges, even with limited resources.

  • Execution-Focused: Delivers results with a bias for action, even under ambiguous conditions.
