About the company:
Senior Product Designer
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the design of Terradot’s software platform for Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) project execution. In this role, you’ll design systems that streamline and scale the core workflows behind ERW, including project planning, on-the-ground operations, and measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV). You’ll partner with technical, operational, and commercial teams to translate user needs into intuitive, high-leverage solutions that drive operational excellence and long-term company growth. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role with significant ownership and the opportunity to shape a platform that will enable Terradot to scale ERW deployments to climate-relevant levels.
Role Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end design process. Lead the end-to-end product design lifecycle, from research and ideation to wireframing, prototyping, high-fidelity design, and post-launch iteration, ensuring a seamless and cohesive user experience across Terradot’s platform.
Collaborate closely with development leads. Partner with Product and Engineering leads to explore, refine, and pressure-test potential solutions based on required outcomes and real-world constraints.
Deliver immediate value while building for scale. Immerse yourself in the operational realities of ERW project planning, operations, and MRV to design pragmatic, user-centered solutions that bridge the physical / digital divide and accelerate Terradot’s ability to scale.
Translate complexity into clarity. Streamline complex, technical, and often ambiguous processes into intuitive workflows that empower our users without sacrificing depth or rigor.
Facilitate and lead design activities. Conduct and lead user research sessions, design workshops, and visioning exercises that clarify needs and spark innovation.
Champion design quality and user impact. Maintain a high bar for usability, accessibility, and platform cohesion, advocating for user needs throughout the product development process.
Background and Requirements:
5+ years of web and mobile design experience. You’ve led end-to-end design projects for operationally-oriented software platforms, ideally in fast-paced, early-stage startups where you’ve owned the process from discovery through launch and iteration.
Experience designing for operational, scientific, or data-intensive workflows. You’re comfortable navigating complex, highly technical problem spaces and view UX not just as an interface but as a critical tool in driving outcomes around efficiency, scalability, and data quality.
Strong portfolio of thoughtful, user-centered design work. You can demonstrate how your designs solved real problems for users and how you approached trade-offs and constraints.
Proficient with modern design and prototyping tools. You know how to quickly translate ideas into wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, and when to use which level of fidelity.
Skilled in user research and testing. You know how to structure interviews, field visits, and feedback sessions to extract insights and validate design decisions.
Clear communication skills. You can articulate design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and adapt your level of detail depending on the audience.
Personal Attributes:
Highly collaborative team player, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving, deep user empathy, and an ability to seamlessly navigate and mediate interactions across a wide range of stakeholder backgrounds.
Deeply curious and eager to meet our users and stakeholders where they are, whether it’s in the office, out in the field, or at the lab.
Strategic thinker who can balance short-term needs with long-term vision.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A positive, action-oriented mindset with a focus on outcomes.
Nice to have:
Experience designing systems in highly operational, data-heavy domains, such as agriculture, scientific research, manufacturing, logistics, or healthcare.
Demonstrated passion for streamlining and scaling complex operational workflows.
A clear interest in taking action to mitigate the impacts of climate change.
