About the company:

Over millions of years, silicate rock weathering has regulated Earth’s climate. By crushing silicate rocks and spreading them on agricultural soils - an approach called Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW) - we can accelerate Earth’s natural process into a solution capable of addressing the urgency of climate change.

Existing agricultural and silicate rock sites - namely 5,000+ global silicate rock quarries surrounded by agricultural land - have the potential to remove billions of tonnes of CO2 with enhanced rock weathering. Despite this potential, ERW hasn’t scaled given the extraordinary scientific, technological, and operational challenges involved. Terradot, founded out of the Stanford ecosystem, is addressing these challenges by advancing the science, building the technology, and assembling the coalition needed to make this potential a reality.

We’ve started in Brazil – one of the world’s most optimal locations for ERW thanks to its tropical soils, strength in agriculture, and clean electricity grid. There, we are building the most ambitious ERW hub to date. This hub will drive the necessary breakthroughs in ERW science, ensuring every tonne of carbon dioxide removed is measured and tracked with certainty.

These insights will power digital tools for the optimization and verification of carbon removal projects, enabling the replicability of these hubs globally If successful, this approach will uniquely and rapidly catalyze global-scale carbon removal, enabling the transformation of [300] such quarries in Brazil and [5,000+] global quarries into carbon removal hubs.

Terradot has assembled a growing team of leading scientists and engineers with decades of published research (over 100,000 citations on ERW) and hands-on expertise in related fields, providing unmatched experience to drive advancements in ERW.

Working under the SOP Manager and closely with the ESG and Deployment teams, the Community Engagement Coordinator will act as the primary interface between Terradot and the communities where we operate. This individual will also play a central role in fulfilling social and environmental expectations from certification entities such as Isometric, as well as from investors and clients like Microsoft.

We are hiring the Community Engagement Coordinator to:

Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Terradot and local stakeholders, including farmers, cooperatives, community leaders, NGOs, and government agencies.

  • Organize community consultations, listening sessions, and townhall-style meetings to ensure informed participation and local buy-in.

  • Maintain clear and organized documentation of all community engagements as required by carbon certifiers and auditors.

  • Monitor local sentiment and proactively identify and mitigate risks of resistance, misunderstanding, or reputational damage.

  • Collaborate with the ESG team to ensure alignment with environmental and social policies.

  • Assist in designing and implementing initiatives that create local value and demonstrate positive impact (e.g., education programs, environmental awareness, job creation).

  • Generate periodic reports on engagement activities, stakeholder mapping, and field-level sentiment to support internal decision-making and external disclosures.

  • Provide training and capacity-building to operational teams on respectful community interaction, cultural awareness, and communication.

  • Support incident response protocols and ensure that all community grievances are recorded, investigated, and resolved transparently.

What Success Looks Like (90 Days, 6 Months, 12 Months)

  • Establish a stakeholder map and engagement calendar for Q3 deployments.

  • Document all interactions to comply with Isometric’s requirements.

  • Build trust with key community leaders in each deployment zone.

  • Deliver the first engagement report aligned with ESG and certification standards.

In 6–12 Months

  • Institutionalize community engagement processes across all deployment cycles.

  • Ensure full compliance with social requirements from certifying entities.

  • Reduce community-related operational risks to zero through early identification and mitigation.

  • Become a recognized, trusted face of Terradot in strategic territories.

  • Excellent communication, active listening, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.

  • Ability to travel frequently and work closely with field operations.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in carbon markets, environmental certifications, or ERW-related projects.

  • Background in agribusiness, rural extension services, or development programs.

  • Experience working in startups or high-growth mission-driven companies.

Compensation
