About this Role
Terradot is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Analytical Chemist to develop, implement, and document robust analytical methods for the analysis of solid and aqueous phase samples (e.g. soil, water, and plant matrixes). The successful candidate will ensure the generation of high-quality data supported by robust QA/QC protocols. This position is critical to our carbon removal crediting, regulatory compliance, and the overall success of the company’s mission to mitigate climate change.
Location: Brazil - São Paulo or Paracatu
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods for the analysis of solid and aqueous phase samples relevant to carbon removal projects.
Collaborate with our laboratory partners to optimize sample processing and analysis workflows, ensuring efficient and high-quality data generation.
Ensure the quality and reliability of analytical data through rigorous quality control measures.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, draw meaningful conclusions, and communicate findings effectively through reports and presentations.
Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all laboratory activities.
Support the design and execution of laboratory experiments to address critical scientific questions and inform carbon removal project development.
Maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment.
Background and Requirements
Must Have:
Master's or Doctoral degree in Analytical Chemistry, Geochemistry, or a closely related field.
3+ years of relevant laboratory experience in analytical chemistry or geochemistry.
Proficiency in English.
Ability to regularly travel for extended periods of time to our partner laboratory facilities in BR.
Nice to Have:
Specific experience in solid phase extractions of environmental samples, XRF, and ICP analytical methods.
Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis.
Familiarity with environmental sampling and analysis techniques.
Experience with laboratory automation and data management systems.
