About the role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and take part in the mechanical design and development of our commercial Carbolysis production facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of process industry plant design principles and will possess a proven track record of success in the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer.

You will be designing various equipment, pressure piping, and steel structures while  ensuring they meet our testing requirements and comply with relevant standards. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring our vision to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take  part in the detailed design of our commercial Carbolysis production facilities and collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure that the design is integrated with other plant systems
  • Ensure that all designs meet applicable safety and environmental regulations as well as design codes and standards
  • Specify and oversee design work and quality of detailed drawings and documentation for manufacturing and construction.
  • Develop detailed designs for mechanical systems
  • Develop layout and plant designs for our Carbolysis production facilities
  • Act as a package responsible for equipment deliveries
  • Review and approve engineering documents
  • Participate in project meetings
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest engineering standards and practices
  • Provide technical assistance to other Carbo Culture personnel and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.

Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on process industry equipment design.
  • Proven experience in sizing, modelling, and drafting industrial equipment.
  • Strong understanding of plant scale engineering, especially on piping and steel structure design principles.
  • Familiarity with Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) or ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).
  • Proficiency in Vertex 4GPlant or other relevant design software.
  • Key-user experience Product Lifecycle Management and plant documentation systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to quality and safety.
