About the company:
We are expanding our industrialization capabilities and are looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our Factory Engineering team in Amsterdam. You will shape how our manufacturing operations are structured and perform as we design, build and ramp our first commercial production facility.
Working closely with Process Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations you will define operational concepts, workload and staffing models, production flows, line balance parameters and performance studies. This is a hands-on role in an early factory design and ramp-up environment, focused on making the production system practical, efficient and ready to operate as intended from day one.
This role reports to Axel Save, Head of Factory Engineering.
Define operational concepts for manufacturing areas, including 3P (Product, Parts, People) flows, staffing models and shift structures.
Develop and optimize line balance, workload distribution and capacity models aligned with production targets.
Establish and maintain performance frameworks such as OEE to support operational decision-making and improvements.
Support factory and line layout development with a focus on operability, ergonomics and maintainability.
Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies and operational risks, initiating data-driven improvements to stabilize throughput and performance.
Work closely with Process Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain to ensure the production operates as an integrated whole.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or a related engineering field.
4+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or operations development roles in production environments.
Strong experience with line balancing, workload modelling, capacity planning, OEE and production performance analysis.
Familiarity with standardization, lean principles and continuous improvement methods.
Ability to translate data and analysis into practical operating models and shopfloor improvements.
Structured, collaborative and pragmatic problem solver, comfortable working hands-on in both design and on the shopfloor.
