About the company:
We are expanding our industrialization capabilities and are looking for a Process Engineer to join our Factory Engineering team in Amsterdam. You will operate at the intersection of process design, equipment implementation and production scaling, translating product and technical requirements into stable, efficient and safe manufacturing solutions.
You will own a set of core process steps, collaborating with R&D, Product Design, Operations and equipment suppliers to define process parameters, write specifications and bring a robust manufacturing system into large-scale operation. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role in an early factory design environment, requiring strong ownership and initiative.
Own and develop a defined set of manufacturing processes within the company’s first commercial production plant (e.g. mixing, calendering/pressing, chemical treatments and other core production processes). Experience in any of these areas is a strong plus.
Design and detail assigned manufacturing steps, including process flows, equipment specifications and technical documentation.
Translate product and design requirements into stable, repeatable and scalable production solutions; enabling manufacturability in close collaboration with R&D and Product Design stakeholders.
Actively support equipment selection, supplier interaction, installation and commissioning for the assigned processes.
Support commissioning and ramp-up through troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure assigned processes meet safety, quality, and sustainability requirements, in both ramp-up and steady-state production.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field.
3+ years of experience in mechanical, process or manufacturing engineering roles in industrial or production environments.
Hands-on ability to take technical ownership of manufacturing processes from concept through commissioning and stable production.
Strong practical foundation in process design, equipment specifications and supplier interactions, technical documentation and ramp-up troubleshooting.
Structured, collaborative problem solver, comfortable working cross-functionally in a high-ambiguity and rapidly evolving environment (startup experience is a plus).
