Head of FP&A/Head of Finance

Position: Head of FP&A/Head of Finance (Depending on Seniority)

Location São Paulo, Brazil

This role combines strategic financial planning with operational finance oversight. The ideal candidate will establish and optimize financial processes, ensure compliance and accurate reporting, and provide actionable insights for decision-making to the executive team. They will play a pivotal role in balancing strategic forecasting with hands-on financial management, making it a critical leadership position within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

FP&A Function:

• Establish the FP&A function to enable data-driven business decision-making.  

• Create and manage company forecasts, budgets, and scenario planning models.  

• Analyze key business scenarios, sensitivities, and financial drivers.  

• Support investor relations, including preparing board meeting financials and ad hoc analyses.  

• Oversee deep cost analysis (e.g., operations, supply chain, science) to optimize margins.  

• Lead ROI assessments for new business opportunities.  

General Finance:

• Establish the financial “plumbing” of the company

• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.  

• Develop and enforce policies for accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management.

• Oversee and ensure the tax-compliance and tax strategy across the company

• Oversee and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with local regulations.

• Coordinate with external accountants (Brazil and USA) and other external stakeholders (banks)

Requirements:  

• At least 5-7 years of experience as FP&A or Financial Controller

• Experience designing and implementing, from scratch, the financial foundation of a company. 

• Proven track record of managing financial reporting and operational finance processes.  

• Advanced financial modeling, forecasting

• Strong analytical skills to distill raw data into actionable insights.  

• Detail-oriented with a focus on financial accuracy and compliance.  

• Strong critical thinking and intellectual curiosity to drive continuous improvement.  

• Effective communicator and collaborator across teams and functions.  

• Proactive problem-solver, anticipating challenges and addressing them swiftly.  

• Adaptable and capable of managing changing business priorities.  

Preferred:

• Experience in Agriculture, Agtech or related industries preferred

• Experience setting up internal financial processes at a start-up, preferred

• Proficiency with ERP systems and financial software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP).
