We're looking for a Water Quality Reliability Engineer - focusing on the science and engineering of providing and maintaining high water purity in industrial water electrolyzers. You will develop techniques and execute experiments to inform root cause analysis of water contaminants and develop mitigation strategies for maintaining water purity to enable peak performance of Electric Hydrogen’s core technology.

You will be based in Natick, MA and report to the Reliability Manager. 

Primary responsibilities:

• Design and execute a wide-range of tests/inspections/monitoring related to water program

• Research and develop to determine sources of contamination in balance of plant and cell components, improve water system performance and reliability for electrolyzer system operation; plan and implement improvements

• Plan, design, develop, and implement protocols that will ensure deionized water quality is maintained

•Evaluate the impacts of various contaminants and their concentrations

• Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations

•Develop mitigation strategies, top down or bottom up for contaminants and their impacts on electrochemical devices.

•Work with a cross-functional team, at various scales in order to maintain aquatic excellence

Basic Qualifications:

• You should have 2+ years of relevant experience in deionized water systems, determining sources of water contamination, design of experiments to quantify persistent trace contaminants, root cause analysis and failure mode identification, mitigation of contaminants, structure-function relationships

• BS, MS, PhD in Engineering or Science disciplines

• Previous experience working on various water analysis laboratory work (e.g. ICP-MS, ion chromatography, etc)

• Understanding of water chemistry

• Knowledge on water purification technologies and system operations

•Knowledge of electrochemistry a plus

• Prior experience in high purity facility preferred (e.g. biotech, semiconductor, nuclear) a plus

• Exhibits commitment to a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment

Compensation:

[Natick Zone] Water Quality Reliability Engineer (P2): $86,000 - $114,000 per year

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
