About This Role:
Crusoe Cloud’s Network Engineering team is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager, Network Automation to lead a team of Software Engineers focused on building software-based tools for our global edge, backbone, and data center network for High-Performance Compute (HPC) Clusters with GPUs. This role requires a strong technical background in software engineering principles, network automation, and infrastructure, along with experience in leadership, mentorship, and strategic planning.

You will play a critical role in shaping the future of Crusoe’s network infrastructure by driving innovation, enhancing automation capabilities, and ensuring operational excellence.
What You’ll Be Working On:
Team Leadership & Development: Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Network Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Network Automation & Innovation: Drive the development and implementation of building tools and solutions with software engineering principles for the Network Engineering to improve network efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Strategic Planning: Work with leadership and cross-functional teams to define the roadmap for network automation, tooling, and infrastructure growth.
Operational Excellence: Oversee network automation initiatives, ensuring high availability and performance across Crusoe Cloud’s backbone, edge, and data center networks.
Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Operations teams to align network automation strategies with business goals.
Incident Management & Troubleshooting: Guide the team in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues, improving operational efficiency through automation.
Documentation & Process Improvement: Maintain comprehensive documentation for automation workflows, network tools, and operational procedures.
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
10+ years of experience as an individual contributor in software engineering, with a strong foundation in developing scalable systems and tools.
3+ years of management experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management of technical teams.
Hands-on experience with production networking, with a strong understanding of how software interfaces with real-world networks (does not need to be data center or backbone-specific).
Expertise in network automation, scripting, and tool development using Python, Go, or similar languages.
Familiarity with networking protocols such as BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, EVPN, VXLAN, and QoS.
Experience with network provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools.
Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and drive automation initiatives in a DevOps environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Compensation:
Compensation will be between $245,000 and $290,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
