We are searching for a Water Quality Reliability Engineer - focusing on the science and engineering of providing and maintaining high water purity water electrolyzers. In this role, you will develop techniques and execute experiments that will inform root cause analysis of water contaminants and develop mitigation strategies for maintaining water purity to enable peak performance of Electric Hydrogen’s core technology.

You will be based in Natick, MA and report to the Reliability Manager. 


 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and execute a wide range of tests/inspections/monitoring related to aquatic excellence program.
  • Lead investigation that will map sources of impurities in cell components and upstream systems, as applicable, through identification and characterization of impact of these contaminants on cell performance and durability
  • Develop mitigation and applicable remediation strategies, top down or bottom up for these contaminants and their impacts on electrochemical devices.
  • Plan, design, develop, testing protocols that will define water quality specifications
  • Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Provide excellent communication within Electric Hydrogen to facilitate knowledge sharing and coordinating technology goals and milestones.
  • Work with a cross-functional team, at various scales to maintain aquatic excellence.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Determining sources of water contamination
  • Designing experiments to quantify persistent trace contaminants.
  • Root cause analysis, failure mode identification, mitigation of contaminants
  • Structure-function relationships
  • BS, MS, PhD in Engineering or Science disciplines
  • Previous experience working on various water analysis laboratory work (e.g. ICP-MS, ion chromatography, etc)
  • Understanding of water chemistry, a plus
  • Knowledge of electrochemical characterization techniques (e.g., Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Cyclic Voltammetry (CV)) a plus
  • Exhibits commitment to a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment

$95,000$126,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
