Your role and your team:

We are looking for an outstanding System Engineer with strong software background to join our innovative team to shape the future of urban e-mobility.

This is a senior role and this position will contribute, as part of our integrated cross-functional team, to the architecture, design, certification and delivery of the Lilium Jet.

The position requires someone with a strong certification and project management background. In this role you will coordinate internal and external development, validation and verification activities as well as collaboration with external suppliers and authorities.

Your Day to Day: 

  • Develop airworthy electronic and electrical systems for eVTOL aircraft
  • Participate in functional development, validation and implementation of the system
  • Work closely with software/electronic development team.
  • Take the ownership of critical aspects of the system and manage its whole implementation, integration and qualification cycle.
  • Write certification documents and work directly with compliance demonstration for the regulatory requirements
  • Perform system planning activities, define requirements for subsystems and components
  • Define incremental certification and reuse concept
  • Work together with other departments and external suppliers to find the simplest and most elegant solutions

Your Profile: 

  • MSc, PhD or equivalent degree in engineering is required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in airborne system and/or software engineering (civil aviation is a plus).
  • Working knowledge in ARP-4754A, DO-297, DO-178C and DO-331 (Model-Based Development and Verification).
  • Experience working with and managing external suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering principles using EA, Capella, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience in MATLAB and Simulink is a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of System Engineering principles such as INCOSE, and ISO15288.
  • Work experience in one of the following systems is a strong plus:
    • ATA24 – Electrical power systems, battery management systems, load distributions etc.
    • ATA72 – Engine systems
    • ATA21 – Air conditioning
  • Involvement in EASA/FAA (or other similar national agencies) audits is a plus
  • Target-oriented, solution driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, Fluent German or any other language would be beneficial
