Join the Flight Control Laws Team based in Bristol as an Advanced Flight Control Laws Engineer and help us to achieve our mission of pioneering electric aviation.
What success will look like for you, as an Advanced Flight Control Laws Engineer?
As an, Advanced Flight Control Laws Engineer, you will be responsible for acting as the “brains of the aircraft” and interfacing with almost every other team at vertical, along with understanding and managing (often comparing) stakeholder requirements. You will have the opportunity for involvement with many aspects of Flight Control Laws development from requirements definition through to simulation, Flight Test, and requirements validation and verification.
You will be working in a close-knit and agile team, working within the Digital & Flight Systems squad at Vertical and supporting the continued development of our in-house expertise, specialist knowledge and capabilities.
What we would like you to bring
We want you to be successful in your role, in order to achieve this, you will need to have proven experience in the management of Flight Control Laws requirements, including the definition of new system-level requirements to EARS standard (or equivalent). Additionally, you will need good skills/knowledge of developing tools in MATLAB and you will and you will be comfortable with Simulink and have an appreciation of Model-based design and best practices concerning the use of Simulink. Ideally you will have gained this experience from either Aerospace or Automotive sectors. You will also have a BS/MS/PHD in Aerospace Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or a related field.
