Your role and your team: 

We are looking for an outstanding System Engineer with strong Systems background and IMA development experience to join our innovative team to shape the future of urban e-mobility.

The position is on-site with one of Lilium's partners in the US, and may require travel to other suppliers in the US.

The role requires someone with a strong background in certification of highly integrated systems, and cross-coordination between stakeholders. In this role you will coordinate development and planning activities as well as collaboration with external suppliers and authorities.

This is a senior role and this position will report functionally to our Team Leader for Highly Integrated System Development and will contribute, as part of our integrated cross-functional team, to the architecture, design, certification and delivery of the Lilium Jet.

Your Day to Day:

  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure customer expectations are translated and executed i.a.w. SOW against an agreed schedule.
  • Support planning activities between suppliers and customer and associated milestone reviews.
  • Coordinate and support customer and supplier Design Review Milestones as required by applicable processes and industry standards.
  • Facilitate and support supplier audits for customer and certification authorities.
  • Coordinate and support distribution of Usage Domain and Member System Specifications, and associated guidance and trainings.
  • Coordinate and support Resource Management activities between suppliers and customer.
  • Facilitate interactions between suppliers and customer.
  • Assess supplier development lifecycle deliverable maturity and alignment with customer needs.
  • Coordinate alignment between customer and supplier on interpretation and implementation of industry standards.
  • Support Integration and verification efforts compliant with ARP4754A and DO-297.
  • Drive compliance demonstration to AMC20-170 and other applicable regulatory objectives, and support associated certification activities.

 Your profile:

  • BSc/MSc, PhD or equivalent degree in engineering is required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in airborne systems and/or software engineering (civil aviation is a plus).
  • Demonstrated working knowledge in ARP4754A, and DO-297.
  • Experiences with ETSO-153a authorization is a bonus.
  • Experiences in certifying IMA Platforms and Highly Integrated Systems against AMC20-170 and DO-297 is a plus.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and managing external suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of System Engineering principles such as INCOSE, and ISO15288.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering principles using EA, Capella, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience in MATLAB and Simulink is a plus.
  • Involvement in EASA/FAA (or other similar national agencies) audits.
  • Experiences with MOC SC-VTOL is a bonus
  • Target-oriented, solution driven workstyle with analytic problem-solving skills required.
  • Fluent English language skills are required. Fluency in German or any other language would be beneficial.
