Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $182,000 to $275,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:
Lead the development of motion control systems, including drivetrain, braking, steering, active suspension, and remote robot control, using agile methodologies for rapid integration and verification. Oversee system design and establish integration and verification plans to meet performance, safety, and cybersecurity requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure proper function allocation and interface design. Drive integration and verification strategies for both standard and off-nominal test conditions, refining requirements as necessary. Mentor system integration engineers and participate in supplier evaluations to ensure requirements and testing protocols are effectively implemented.Qualifications
BS, MS, or Ph.D. in controls, systems, or electrical engineering, with at least 15 years of experience in systems design, including over 10 years specifically in developing automotive motion function systems.Experience developing fail-operational / fail-safe concepts and related system diagnostics based on functional safety standards (ISO26262 or equivalent). Experience developing electrical systems and subsystem requirements with proficiency in requirements management tools (IBM DOOrs, Siemens Polarion, or similar).Solid foundation in vehicle dynamics, closed-loop control theory, and real-time embedded control design, along with experience with sensors and actuators in the motion function domain, including high-voltage battery and traction motorWorking knowledge of automotive serial communication protocols (CAN/LIN/Ethernet), application, and physical and functional interface definition.Bonus Qualifications
Experience in Model Based System Design process Experience in real-time embedded software architecture, such as AUTOSAR.Experience in advanced embedded software architecture, such as LINUX.
