In this role, you will apply your craft and passion for bringing new ideas and concepts to life through building prototype bucks, mules, alphas, and validation hardware to accelerate the development of our autonomous vehicle platform. Through close cross-functional collaboration with our design, engineering, and manufacturing teams, you will be part of delivering innovative solutions for AV hardware, ensuring performance, safety, and scalability.

In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with engineers and prototype technicians to build complex electromechanical systems, prototypes, bucks, mules, and alphas to produce next-generation vehicles and platforms.
  • Support the bring-up of systems that require the use of your debug and diagnostic skills.
  • Employ strong prototyping abilities that accelerate decision-making and development time. 
  • Maintain build documentation (BOMs, assembly guides, test reports).
  • Provide cross-functional feedback to the team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications

  • Vehicle Technician training, or related accredited training.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Ability to build and assemble electromechanical systems with minimal instructions.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and CAD drawings.
  • Ability to modify electrical circuits and mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and diagnostic tools.
  • Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with hands-on prototyping (fabrication, welding, composites, etc.) and designing and building tools, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Supplier management and development to support Prototyping.
  • Skilled with productivity and documentation tools such as Google Suite, Jira, Smartsheet, and Confluence.
