In this role, you will help ensure the safety and commercial success of Electric Hydrogen's product. You will be based in our office in San Carlos, CA with allowable hybrid work schedule - though Natick, MA applicants will also be considered. Depending on the phase of the project, up to 10% of your time might be best spent with boots on the ground at vendors or the project site <1 hour away from here. You will report to the Director of Systems (Plant Engineering).

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Interpret the codes and standards that are applicable to our product and communicate them to the design engineers
  • Read applicable codes and creatively summarize them in simple interpretable ways
  • Review our product architecture and design details, providing detailed feedback to the designers
  • Work across teams to help communicate codes, industry expertise, and best practices
  • Participate in DFMEAs, HAZOPs, PHAs, and other similar process/product safety reviews
  • Guide specific tests and validation programs to gather the data required to demonstrate code compliance
  • Involve yourself in the panels that create the codes and standards to help ensure company and consumer interests are protected
  • Maintain focus on high-level goals while handling the details

Required Experience and Professional Qualities

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar technical field
  • 3+ years industry experience in hydrogen, power, oil & gas, chemical processing, cooling and chilling, water systems, or similar
  • Field experience with the regulatory compliance and safety design of industrial systems
  • Familiarity with HAZOPs, DFMEAs, PHAs, and similar
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NFPA 70, NFPA 2, ASME BPVC, etc)
  • Passion for simplifying systems, reducing cost, and improving efficiency
