GreenLight Biosciences is a company who develops and manufactures RNA based products for sustainable crop
protection solutions using a cell-free bioprocessing technology platform.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for the receipt, preparation, analysis, and timely reporting of results from the production
samples, incoming raw materials, or investigatory samples.
· Execute analytical and microbiological testing to support GMP production of commercial and pre-
commercial RNA-based products, following approved methods and batch records
· Conduct the analysis and routine maintenance of the complex instrumentation and wet chemical
determinations conducted in the laboratory
· Responsible for always maintaining a safe work environment for all employees
· Supporting the analytical needs of production research, product and process support, development of
sample methods, preparation of standards, and when needed support the development of inhouse test
methods of analysis to solve product and process challenges.
· Participate in daily Quality Control operations to support production and ensure compliance with the
Quality Management System
· Adhere to ensuring that timely and accurate sample processing, data analysis, and reporting are
consistent
· Perform in-process and final product testing, including HPLC, wet chemistry, gel electrophoresis, and
enzymology
· Monitor and maintain method QC statistics, perform QC release of intermediates and final products, and
troubleshoot analytical methods as needed
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality systems and operational excellence
· Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, manage reagent preparation, and oversee inventory and
supply chain for quality operations
· Utilize LIMS and QMS platforms for data entry, document control, training, and nonconformance
management
· Practice the proper use of personal protective equipment, the proper handling and disposal of commonly
used hazardous chemicals in the laboratory.
Education and Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology) or
equivalent experience.
· 5 - 10 years of relevant work experience in a biochemical, biotechnology, or food processing environment,
including laboratory-based roles.
· Experience working in ISO 9001:2015 and/or ISO 17025 certified environments.
Required Skills
· Proficiency in laboratory techniques such as HPLC, wet chemistry, gel electrophoresis, and enzymology.
· Strong understanding of Quality Control processes, including troubleshooting methods and process
control tracking.
· Experience with LIMS and QMS software (Document Control, Training, CAPA, Nonconformance
Management).
· High attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and effective problem-solving
abilities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams).
· Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and mentor team members.
Working Conditions
· Work is performed in a GMP controlled environment with strict adherence to contamination control and
PPE protocols.
· This job operates in a professional lab environment. This role routinely uses lab equipment such as
computers, HPLC, and analyzers. Tolerance of odors and incidental chemical exposure is required in the
laboratory environment.
· Requires standing, walking, and hands-on laboratory work for extended periods.
· May involve occasional extended hours or weekend work to support production schedules or
investigations.
· Responsible for maintaining audit readiness through accurate documentation, procedural compliance,
and team oversight.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee
is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
· The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee
may frequently lift and move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Required to wear all appropriate PPE which may include a lab coat, gloves, dust mask, googles, safety
glasses or face mask when environment conditions deem necessary.
Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000
