About the role

As Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will serve as a force multiplier and strategic partner, ensuring the CEO and the leadership team are working on the most critical priorities. Your central mission is to drive operational alignment, organizational maturity, and long-term strategic direction required to scale our company effectively.

You will be a trusted advisor, leading high-impact initiatives that translate executive vision into tangible outcomes. This is a highly strategic role for a leader who can develop scalable systems, empower the executive team, conduct insightful market analysis, and act as a proxy for the CEO, ultimately freeing his focus for long-term strategy, capital, and the next 'big mission'.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership Enablement & Organizational Scaling
    • Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the CEO and the broader leadership team, ensuring the leadership team are aligned across company priorities.
    • Partner with the CEO to develop the leadership team's operational rhythm, helping to mature processes and decision-making frameworks that enable the company to scale.
    • Lead the company OKR process and help with other strategic planning processes, ensuring alignment and rigorous follow-through across the company.
    • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks, creating a foundation for future growth.
  • Strategic Execution & Operational Excellence
    • Own and drive high-priority, cross-functional strategic initiatives from conception through to completion ensuring alignment with company vision.
    • Lead special projects focused on developing the scalable systems, tooling, and consistent processes required to execute multiple complex programs efficiently and concurrently.
    • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and business case development to inform strategic decision-making and uncover new business opportunities.
    • Help the CEO pressure-test ideas and evaluate new opportunities (like M&A or new markets), and prepare for fundraising or board meetings.
  • Communications & Stakeholder Management
    • Oversee the preparation of materials for key internal and external meetings, including board meetings, key partner engagements,  investor updates, and all-hands presentations.
    • Champion company culture by developing and managing a communications strategy to ensure our Mission, Vision, and Values are understood and embodied throughout the organization.
    • Draft compelling correspondence and internal communications on behalf of the CEO.

Who You Are: Qualifications & Attributes

Required

  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience; 5+ years of experience in demanding roles like business operations, management consulting, venture capital, or similar strategic positions
  • Execution Skills: Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable results.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making, including financial modeling and market analysis.
  • Strategic Mindset: A strategic thinker who can connect a long-term vision to the tactical implementation required to get there, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Location: Willingness to commute to our Mountain View and San Jose offices at least 3 times per week, and up to 5 days if needed due to business needs.

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Demonstrated experience helping an organization navigate a period of rapid growth and scale and influencing without direct authority.
  • A track record of translating high-level strategy into scalable, repeatable processes.
  • High emotional intelligence with experience acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives.
  • Experience with strategic planning processes and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in both structured corporate environments and rapidly scaling startup organizations.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $225,000 - $275,000, plus a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location as assessed during the interview process.
