GreenLight Biosciences is pioneering the use of sustainable RNA based technologies to drive food security and safety, and animal health around the world. We are seeking a strategic Global Director of Quality Assurance (QA) to lead and elevate our quality assurance programs across veterinary pharmaceutical and agricultural product lines. This key leader will be responsible for developing, refining and implementing global quality management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across internal and third-party manufacturing, supply chain, and product development. The director is expected to make decisions in a timely manner based on business priorities and executes these through staff. This position may require up to 25% travel, including international travel.
Major Responsibilities
GreenLight Biosciences operates the world’s largest RNA manufacturing site in Rochester, NY and its R&D activities are centered in Research Triangle Park, NC. This position will direct all quality operations at both sites and will collaborate with Global Supply Chain to ensure product quality at domestic and international third-party manufactures.
· Develop and execute a unified global QA strategy across pharmaceutical and agricultural product lines.
· Build and mentor a high-performing global QA team.
· Align QA goals with GreenLight’s mission, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
· Lead cross-functional teams to embed a culture of quality and compliance.
· Oversee global quality management systems designed to comply with GMP, GLP, OECD, ISO, FAO and other appropriate standards.
· Ensure compliance with domestic and international regulatory bodies (EPA, EMA, etc.).
· Lead audits and inspections across internal facilities, collaborating manufacturer facilities and raw material suppliers.
· Monitor and improve QA performance metrics (batch release turnaround times, NC, CAPA, deviation management, etc.).
· Implement and enhance risk management tools and root cause analysis protocols.
· Opportunistically drive digital transformation in QA operations.
· Collaborate with R&D, QC, operations, regulatory, and commercial teams to ensure product integrity and safety.
· Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
· Serve as the primary QA liaison for external partners, regulators, and customers.
Professional Experience, Competencies & Qualifications
The successful candidate is expected to have;
· 10+ years of progressive and collaborative leadership experience in global quality roles within pharmaceutical and/or agricultural sectors.
· Demonstrated ability to make risk-based decisions in a timely manner.
· Deep understanding of international regulatory requirements and quality standards.
· Proven track record in leading audits, regulatory inspections, and quality transformations.
· Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
· CQA certification, or equivalent.
· Results driven with strong analytical mindset
· High integrity and ethical standards
The successful candidate will preferably have;
· Experience with biologics, crop protection products, or veterinary pharmaceuticals.
· Familiarity with sustainability and environmental quality standards.
· Multilingual capabilities and cross-cultural leadership experience.
Education
Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Science, Agricultural Science, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
Salary Range: $190,000-$210,000 USD
