About the company:

In this role, you will use your interdisciplinary skills to create compelling fluid systems, work with contractors, and ensure smooth plant integration. You will be able to use your creativity to create clean sheet designs and innovate on designs created by others. We are looking for a self-motivated team player with unique viewpoints excited to build a new generation of electrolysis equipment.
This position will be based in San Carlos, CA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with system engineering, mechanical engineering, and outside contractors
- Develop fluid systems to control the flow, pressure, and temperature of water, hydrogen, and oxygen
- Evaluate, select, and review components such as pumps, valves, and heat exchangers
- Develop thermodynamic and fluidic models
- Create P&IDs, PFDs, and Heat and Mass Balances
- Work closely with suppliers to manage part quality and delivery timing
- Create test plans for new and existing designs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards the completion of a technical Bachelor's or Master's Degree in aerospace, civil, energy, materials, mechanical, nuclear, physics or related fields
- Strong understanding of fundamental thermodynamics and fluids
- Experience with design-build-test process
- Creative with an eye for detail
- Eagerness to seek better solutions, asking fundamental questions
- Self-starter with an ability to spot problems and take initiative to solve them
- Passion for decarbonization highly preferred
COMPENSATION:
- [San Carlos, CA Zone] Intern: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
- $1500 transportation stipend will be provided
Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
