About the company:

Electric Hydrogen (EH2) is a deep decarbonization company pioneering low-cost, high-efficiency, fossil-free hydrogen systems. Focusing on industrial applications of hydrogen in steel, ammonia and freight transport, our goal is to help eliminate more than 30% of global GHG emissions from hard-to-electrify industries.

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels.

In this role, you will work between the design engineering teams and the product management and sales teams to define product strategy and configure our products for sites across the country and around the world. In the strategic capacity, you will look at the full range of factors which impact the levelized cost of hydrogen and analyze the ability of our products to achieve the lowest possible cost across the full range of locations and markets under consideration for future project. You will use this analysis to inform design direction and sales strategy. In the configuration capacity, you will define how to best configure our currently available designs for specific customers.

You will split time between our offices in San Jose and San Carlos, CA with an allowable hybrid work schedule. Depending on the phase of the project, up to 20% of your time might be best spent at customer’s sites or vendors’ sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and own our product roadmap and our product configuration strategy
  • Work closely with product management and sales teams to understand the needs that our customers have communicated and to forecast future needs based on market projections
  • Build technoeconomic models which translate product costs into full project costs and account for a range of project specific factors including environment, labor market, offtake type, etc.
  • Use modeling and analysis to inform the strategy and pricing for the sales team as well as to define the configuration strategy and cost targets for the subsystem design engineering teams
  • Identify incremental cost reduction opportunities as well as new game changing architectures which relentlessly drive down the levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) for our products
  • Work with our finance team to develop an understanding of our project financing strategies to inform modeling and direction setting
  • Collaborate with the systems engineering team to connect the outputs of their physics-based product models to the inputs of your project level models
  • Collaborate with the supply chain team to inform contracting and sourcing strategies for the full range of suppliers and partners required to manufacture our products and execute our projects

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience leading innovative new product design with a portion of that time spent on hydrogen, power conversion or infrastructure projects
  • Extensive experience taking products from concept through manufacturing/implementation
  • Extensive experience developing models and doing analysis to set strategic and technical direction for new technologies
