About the company:

Electric Hydrogen (EH2) is a deep decarbonization company pioneering low-cost, high-efficiency, fossil-free hydrogen systems. Focusing on industrial applications of hydrogen in steel, ammonia and freight transport, our goal is to help eliminate more than 30% of global GHG emissions from hard-to-electrify industries.

Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to create an abundant and decarbonized material future. Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the work and the team that architects the systems and processes at Electric Hydrogen. You will be based in our office in San Carlos, CA with allowable hybrid work schedule. Depending on the phase of the project, up to 10% of your time might be best spent with boots on the ground at vendors or the project site <1 hour away from here. You will report to the Director of Systems.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage first principles thinking to free the company of conventional constraints and develop novel low-cost solutions
  • Develop top to bottom system understanding to help achieve system optimization rather than component optimization
  • Establish standard engineering process, practices, and tools to enable improved quality and increased time efficiency
  • Drive rapid execution through technical decision-making to deliver a reliable low-cost product to market on schedule
  • Provide design trades, templates, and feedback to achieve effective technical development and communication
  • Ensure that the company understands the internal, customer, and regulatory requirements to ensure product success
  • Build a collaborative interdisciplinary team across sites with unified culture and vision to effectively act as one team

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

  • BS Engineering or similar (mechanical, chemical, electrical, aerospace, systems, or similar)
  • Focus on practical hands-on multidisciplinary engineering experience
  • Working with or leading fast, strong, successful teams
  • Experience with some modeling & simulation tools
  • Organized and detailed oriented
  • Experience taking products from concept through manufacturing
  • Eagerness to seek better solutions, asking fundamental questions
  • Scrappy self-starter with an ability to spot problems and take initiative to solve them
  • Startup experience preferred.  Excited to put in the hustle required to get things done!
