We are searching for a Lab Manager, Power Electronics, who will be working with our Power Systems Engineering team.

You will be based in our office in San Jose, CA.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage lab resources, equipment, supplies and components
  • Handle technical laboratory activities, management and technical support in education and research processes
  • Hold a strategic role in making decisions, setting goals and overseeing the success of a team
  • Assist with all aspects of prototype builds of power electronics converters
  • Construction of test fixtures
  • Wiring for both low voltage and high voltage/high current circuits
  • Rework electronic boards
  • Maintain and organize the lab space and equipment
  • Coordinate activities with internal and external suppliers to ensure delivery and installation of equipment
  • Assist engineers with testing, as well as provide input and feedback to engineers
  • Organize and collaborate testing with other internal testing groups

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Previous success in hiring and managing technician teams
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform prototype testing per written specification or verbal instruction
  • Experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to perform functional testing and failure analysis to a component level
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office based apps

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Manual dexterity to assemble very small components with magnification assistance
  • Experience with soldering, electrical/mechanical assembly, and component-level electronics debug and repair

$26$56.50 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
