At Dioxycle we develop electrolyser solutions for carbon dioxide emissions. Using state-of-the-art technology, we research and provide technology that captures and converts carbon dioxide and ultimately generates valuable chemical products.
About Dioxycle
Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year, representing over 2% of the world's emissions.
At the core of our process is a novel "carbon electrolyzer", a machine capable of using just electricity and water to convert carbon emissions back into valuable everyday essential chemicals. Our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality through this completely novel technological approach. Having completed our medium-scale Proof-of-Concept electrolyzer, we are now working towards a first-of-its-kind large-scale industrial prototype and are assembling key partnerships for future commercial roll-out.
We are supported by world-class funders including Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Gigascale Capital and have raised $37M to date. We operate from two centers in Paris and California (so whether you are passionate about outdoors or good food/art scenes, we have a location for you to join!)
Your Mission
Dioxycle is seeking a detail-oriented Ink & Coatings Specialist to join our team at this pivotal phase of transition from R&D to industrial piloting. You will be leading MEA fabrication and iteration and scaling-up of Dioxycle's MEA fabrication capabilities and processes, from bench into pilot scale and beyond. We are seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working and technically adept individual who is excited about using their energy to foster innovation in electrolysis and have a tangible impact on global emissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and optimize inks for daily electrode fabrication to produce high-quality MEAs for testing at different scales
- Characterize ink rheology, dispersion stability and compatibility with coating techniques
- Operate analytical tools like rheometers, particle sizers, zeta potential analyzers
- Design experiments to explore formulation-performance relationships
- Develop and scale up fabrication processes of Dioxycle's proprietary MEAs
- Ensure reproducibility and transferability of ink formulation protocols to pilot-scale systems
- Design pilot production line process, evaluate and procure equipment
- Integrate your processes to deliver a top-of-class MEA fabrication line
- Conduct and document hands-on work and analysis: documentation, post-processing and interpretation of results
- Actively foster a culture of safety in the lab
Location: Onsite in Paris, France
Qualifications:
To be fully comfortable with the job, you have at least a PhD or equivalent industry experience (3-4 years). We very much encourage and welcome skilled and experienced candidates (10 years+ experience).
Opportunity for Growth:
The position offers a clear path for professional growth within Dioxycle, with the possibility to take the lead on fabrication process development beyond pilot scale, and/or other roles in R&D or technology development.
Below are the skills we believe will enable you to be successful in this role.
