Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year, representing over 1% of the world's emissions.
At Dioxycle, we believe that profitability is essential to trigger adoption of decarbonization technologies at the scale and speed required to reach our net-zero goals. With this in mind, our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality. Having completed our medium-scale Proof-of-Concept carbon monoxide electrolyzer, we are now working towards a first-of-its-kind large-scale industrial prototype and are assembling key partnerships for future commercial roll-out.
We are supported by world-class funders including Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Gigascale Capital and operate from two R&D centers in Europe and California.
About Dioxycle
Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year, representing over 2% of the world's emissions.
At the core of our process is a novel "carbon electrolyzer", a machine capable of using just electricity and water to convert carbon emissions back into valuable everyday essential chemicals. Our team is innovating across chemical, mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible, industrial reality through this completely novel technological approach. Having completed our industrial-scale electrolyzer prototype, we are now working with our chemical and downstream offtakers towards First-of-a-kind plant deployment and subsequent commercial roll-out.
We are supported by world-class funders including Bill-Gates-founded Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Lowercarbon Capital and Gigascale Capital and have raised $40M to date. We operate from two centers in Paris and California (so whether you are passionate about outdoors or good food/art scenes, we have a location for you to join!)
Your Mission
Dioxycle is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on
Process Development Engineer to join our team at a pivotal phase of transition from R&D to industrial piloting and early commercial deployment.
We are looking for a process engineer with real industrial-scale experience (rather than a pure R&D or academic background) who can bring a critical, hands-on, plant-minded perspective to our process design and de-risk our path to commercial scale. You will work in close partnership with our principal process engineer, splitting your time roughly 70/30 between process simulation/design and hands-on experimental work, with the experimental share increasing to roughly 50% of your time during key testing campaigns. Your responsibilities will center around:
- Simulate, model, and optimize process flowsheets (notably using Aspen Plus) to support process design and de-risking decisions
- Benchmark and screen candidate technologies, and engage directly with technology suppliers to identify and validate the right solutions for our process
- Scope, follow up, and steer external technical and experimental studies run by suppliers and engineering partners
- Contribute hands-on to pilot/skid-scale experimental campaigns (e.g. purification skids, evaporators), particularly during peak testing periods
- Work in close, day-to-day partnership with our principal process engineer lead to translate research-stage thinking into industrially robust process designs
- Bring an industrial/operations mindset to challenge and stress-test process choices against real plant constraints
We seek a Process Engineer who is dedicated to advancing our mission and possesses the skills outlined below. Candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply (experience levels up to 10-12 years will also be considered for a more senior scope). We are seeking a candidate who is based in, or open to relocating to, Paris, France.
