We are looking for a Facilities Manager to support the operations of our facility in San Carlos, CA. You will be reporting to the Vice President of Business Operations, and will provide support to technical and office staff while working with management to maintain and improve the facilities. You will also be the contact for external contractors (electricians, plumbers, HVAC, etc.) and will work regularly with the building owner.

You will be based 100% onsite in San Carlos, CA with occasional trips to other facilities as needed. You must be able to share the on-call rotation for Facility Emergencies with the occasional evening, weekend or holiday hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure manufacturing equipment installation requirements are present before installation (MEP, HVAC, lighting, controls)
  • Coordinate and manage preventive maintenance for buildings, labs and equipment
  • Establish new lab/shop/test capabilities (e.g., power, water, gas handling services)
  • Perform root cause evaluation for underperforming critical systems and failed critical components. Track and prioritize resolutions
  • Work with project teams to ensure newly installed assets are captured in our CMMS
  • Coordinate with multiple vendors and negotiate services/products on time and on budget
  • Carry out CMMS planned/unplanned work order management
  • Participate as a member of the Safety Committee while supporting the ongoing development of our environmental health and safety efforts
  • Be able to be on call 24/7 for facility emergencies
  • Help keep the office a clean, inviting and safe place to work
  • Procure materials specific to the job
  • Support shipping and receiving where needed
  • Assist teammates with miscellaneous facilities-related requests

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years' experience in facilities maintenance
  • 3+ years’ experience building, developing and managing high-performing teams
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and Industry Codes (CAL-OSHA, EPA, DEP, ADA) and other environmental regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems (MEP, HVAC, lighting, controls) and codes
  • Knowledge of general maintenance methods, operating requirements and safety precautions related to facilities management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – able to tailor emails to the appropriate audience and succinctly answer questions
  • Read and explain technical and architectural drawings/specification
  • CMMS experience
  • Valid drivers' license and forklift license/certification
  • Ability to climb ladders for maintenance/assembly needs
  • Safely lift up to 50lbs and use a hand truck, dolly or forklift

COMPENSATION

San Carlos Zone
$116,000$155,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
