Cell Testing Technician (2nd Shift)

As a Cell Testing Technician, you will be responsible for daily operation and maintenance of Electric Hydrogen's large-scale electrolysis cell testing system during the second shift. You will work with a cell testing engineer and help execute test plans to collect crucial data for multidisciplinary teams across the company. You will also work closely with the other teams to assess electrolysis cells, help maintain test stations and optimize testing protocols.

You will be based onsite in our Lab in Natick, MA, and report to the Manager, Cell Testing.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Electrochemical testing and operation of large-scale R&D electrolysis test systems
• Perform a variety of experiments using both routine and special test methods to assess functionality of stack before and after electrolysis operations
• Work with cell test engineer and respond to warnings and alarms, taking action to adjust the process. Take action to prevent all accidents or injuries.
• Record results, organize data, and perform basic computations
• Set-up, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment
• Calibrate important lab equipment and maintain laboratory supplies
• Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures Solve technical issues that arise within the lab

PRIOR EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

• High School Diploma / GED (accredited) or higher
• 1+ years' experience working on electrochemical test systems such as Arbin, Maccor (preference for experience with cell or battery characterization)
• Experience operating FactoryTalk View a plus
• Experience working on electrical and mechanical systems
• Able to work independently and under minimal supervision with excellent attention to detail
• Judgment and action skills required to solve commonly encountered problems
• Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to perform basic repair of components on piping assemblies and process skids such as pumps and valves.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings such as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and electrical single-line diagram (SLD).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must work in a standing or seated position for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours
• Significant walking or other means of mobility
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and must adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses
• Must reach, bend, stoop, push or pull and frequently lift up to 40 pounds. Occasionally lift or move 60 pounds
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud at times
• Must wear appropriate PPE
