What you will do:
The Procurement Operations Buyer role is responsible for all tactical and transactional procurement activities relating to purchasing of goods and services in support of our business activities. The role takes ownership over the procurement elements of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process and works in conjunction with the other arms of the Procurement and Supply Chain function, as well as Accounting and Finance to ensure seamless P2P process flow. This position involves interfacing with suppliers and internal stakeholders and will support delivery of select P2P related projects. The role is required to assist and support daily interactions with internal stakeholders, conduct spot-buy processes, and facilitate P2P process improvement. The individual will also assist in managing supplier and NetSuite user P2P Compliance as well as the development and institution of best practices, in line with companywide growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an end-to-end understanding of Electra’s P2P purchasing process including requisition and purchase order creation, post-order management and invoice payment.
- Support delivery of all aspects of the procurement process including development of best practices for P2P operations, procurement software enhancements and P2P process training.
- Oversight of Procurement transactions to ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance to Procurement policies. Manage escalations as appropriate.
- Works with the leader of Procurement Technology and Operations for creation and documentation of workflows, templates and training materials as a subject matter expert in procurement processes, systems and policies. Conduct training on systems and processes related to procurement activities.
- Responsible for accurate procurement platform content, availability of system content to end users, and supplier portals, as implemented.
- Drive continuous innovation and proactively identify areas for P2P process improvement, develop process improvement initiatives and implement process and customer service level improvements.
- Utilize operational knowledge to provide suggestions for cost reduction to the Strategic Sourcing side of the Procurement and Supply Chain team.
- Identify solutions to stakeholder requests, follow through until open requests are resolved along with providing any necessary training and education
- Serve as an escalation contact when system or service issues arise in regards to suppliers and/or with internal departments
- Partner with Accounts Payables in relation to post order management to ensure accurate reporting and other financial commitments
- Take a data-driven approach to analyze P2P performance through KPI metric analysis
- Collaborate with other internal stakeholders as required to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and procurement activities
- Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
What we need you to bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering or related or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing or supply chain roles, preferably in a manufacturing or operations setting
- Works on problems of moderate scope that are often varied and routine where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
- Applies learned techniques and contributes to the analysis and investigation to solve problems.
- Comfortable with receiving little instruction on day-to-day work
- Comfortable determining a course of action based on guidelines and modifies the processes and methods as needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management abilities

- Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, exhibit a sense of urgency, and maintain equilibrium in a fast-moving and changing startup environment

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Professional certification, such as CSCP or similar
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $53,439-$72,770 yearly salary and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
