Ready to be part of something really big? We are looking for a highly motivated Bioprocess Lab Technician to contribute on all aspects of the bench scale fermentation and downstream processing research activities in the lab in the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm.

The ideal candidate will be self-directed, highly collaborative and enjoy working with a team in a fast-paced startup environment, while bringing his/her experience, expertise and innovative ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct studies aimed at improving fermentation and DSP metrics on bench scale.
  • Operating and sampling bench scale fermenters, make fermentation media, turnaround fermenters, operating filtrations and cell lysis equipment and all essential lab equipment and devices to support biotech research activities.
  • Conduct sample preparations and support analytical research activities.   
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement efforts on experimental design, data processing and Bioprocess Lab schedules.
  • Communicate outcomes of studies, recommendations, and next steps to project leaders.
Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degrees in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related Science or Engineering areas.
  • Experience in industrial aerobic microbial fermentation and DSP is highly desired.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • 2nd shift schedule is from 3pm to 11pm but need to be flexible for +/- 2hrs when necessary.
