We are searching for an Assistant Lab Manager to ensure research and development processes continue running smoothly. We are looking for a highly organized candidate who enjoys hands-on tasks, is driven by a want to assist others, and is comfortable in a fast paced and shared work environment.


You will be based in Natick, MA. You will report to the R&D Lab Operations Manager.


Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop methods and execute to maintain R&D lab inventory and supplies
• Act as 5S champion, driving continuous improvement and encouraging lab workers to participate
• Maintain equipment log and coordinate maintenance and calibration of R&D equipment
• Manage laboratory space to maximize effective square footage, factoring equipment utilization and workflow
• Conduct physical inspections of lab spaces and initiate repair, maintenance, or clean-up of any problems or hazards
• Coordination of utility disruptions with R&D lab activities
• Provide assistance with day to day lab operations
• Manage lab cleaning and encourage regular lab hygiene among all lab users
• Maintain organization in shared lab space for multiple groups and research activities
• Maintain updated safety and experiment signage thought lab


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or demonstrated experience
• 2+ years of experience in a research lab or industrial environment
• Detail oriented, organized, and highly reliable
• Effective problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to interact with lab members, facilities, and administrative personnel


Preferred Qualifications:
• BS or MS in Chemistry, Laboratory Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or other science and engineering discipline
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 14001
• Familiarity with 5S principles
• Experience in an electrochemical testing environment
• Ability and knowledge of safe chemical handling

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
