About this role:

This is a hybrid role (2-3 days a week onsite) in Houston, TX 

In this role, you will:

  • Play a key role in project success by effectively supporting supplier procurement and subcontract activities.
  • Manage the expediting process, ensuring timely receipt of materials, equipment, and documentation.
  • Identify and resolve potential bottlenecks with critical orders and schedules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Procurement, Engineering, and Quality Assurance.
  • Source and approve new suppliers, manage bid packages, and track cost-saving initiatives.
  • Coordinate meetings, record minutes, and maintain communication with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Expedite proposals, respond to inquiries, and ensure adherence to bidding instructions.
  • Track supplier performance and maintain up-to-date filing systems.
  • Navigate procurement regulations, policies, and contracting practices.
  • Utilize strong computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and thrive in a collaborative environment.

What's essential:

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field (or have 7+ years’ relevant experience in lieu of the degree).
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in procurement/subcontracts/expediting, preferably in EPC or Oil & Gas.
  • You're a skilled communicator with experience working across functional groups (Engineering, Construction, Project Management).
  • You possess excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills (MS Excel proficiency a must).
  • You're comfortable working with complex contracts and influencing stakeholders' decisions.
  • You're a positive team player with a commitment to Heliogen's inclusive culture.
  • Willingness for domestic travel up to 20% is required.

Desirable:

  • Managing major equipment purchases/subcontracts ($1M-$30M).
  • Previous experience as a Buyer, Expeditor, or Subcontracts Administrator.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
  • CPSM, CSCP, ISM certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in rapid growth environments.
