Reports To: Construction Manager
Job Summary:
Heliogen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Specialist to support the Construction Manager at our renewable energy site in, Texas (Plains, TX Facility). This is an hourly, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans and supervises all activities including manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, and work schedule
- Directing all assigned construction, multi-discipline activities to ensure that work is performed in compliance with Heliogen’s Safety Policies and Procedures as well as applicable environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with the Construction Manager to oversee project construction
- Foster good relationships and team working ethic with sub-contract teams to promote safe working practices
- Co-ordinate work with other supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors daily to minimize work interferences and delays
- Onsite supervising and coordinating of facility construction from ground up, guiding contractor on daily work activities.
- Coordinating between multiple GC’s onsite to achieve established objectives and to minimize interruptions to the construction schedule.
- Review LOTO packages for correctness, walk out process piping electrical and mechanical for LOTO accuracies.
- Involved in identifying, applying, and verifying the construction to Heliogen’s design criteria and specifications in all disciplines.
- Review delivery packing list to verify deliveries that arrive.
- Assist in the Construction manager in the tracking of Project Execution Plans.
- Participate in P&ID and other instrument and control drawing reviews
- Participate in process hazard analysis and constructability reviews
- Complete all required documentation within the work packet and participate in project close outs.
- Training and/or auditing contract personnel on policies and procedures.
- Hold contractor accountable, be willing to “STOP” any unsafe acts.
- Be a Safety Leader.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the multi-disciplinary construction industry, supervisory experience is a plus
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Computer literacy is needed/Proficiency with MS Office suite.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of construction scheduling and the ability to manage multiple trades
- Able to work independently without supervision
- Advanced proficiency in reading P&IDs, isometrics, electrical line list & civil.
- Proficient in Navisworks Freedom Viewer and TrueView.
- Familiar with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910 requirements
- Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
