  • In this role you’ll get to:

  • Be a key leadership team member in end-to-end design and development of new products with emphasis on materials, manufacturing, marketability, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with the Sustainability Manager to understand and measure the full impact of all materials on the environment, from design through end-of-life.
  • Develop packaging solutions using specialty materials such as Cruz Foam™, and other bio-based materials while working in conjunction with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Support our mission by developing sustainable products that meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements and pain points.
  • Testing and Evaluation: working QA/QC  design tests to ensure the packaging meets quality and performance standards. Including performing stress tests, drop tests, vibration tests, or other evaluations to assess the packaging's ability to protect the product during transportation and storage.
  • Cost Optimization: Work to find the balance between effective packaging and cost efficiency. Seek ways to minimize packaging materials and costs without compromising product protection or presentation.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, product designers, R&D, commercial operations, sales, and  marketing professionals, to ensure packaging solutions align with overall product strategies and business goals.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with regulations and industry standards related to packaging, such as safety regulations, labeling requirements, and environmental guidelines.
  • We are looking for people who have:

  • Formal education as a Packaging Engineer and 5+ years of experience in Packaging Engineering, with a focus on technical product management.
  • Ability to understand product requirements, manufacturing requirements, cost modeling, and interacting with: Product Management (customer requirements), Prototyping/Design team , R&D, Commercial Ops, Sales and Marketing.
  • Proficient with Adobe Design Tool, CAD, and FEA analysis.
  • Exhibit the ability to see the importance of every detail, with the knowledge that the only limits are the laws of physics and your own imagination. 
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex ideas and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Capacity to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth and rapidly changing environment.
  • ​​Operate with creativity and ability to work independently with limited guidance.
