What you will do:
Principal Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating with team members within the Projects organization, other internal and external stakeholders, and procurement vendors. This position reports functionally to the VP of Projects and will handle specific tasks assigned.
Responsibilities include:
- Abides by all applicable safety procedures and practices and participates in appropriate safety training.
- Demonstrates commitment to and support of HSEC principles and values, champions safety as necessary.
- Coordinates with various stakeholders internal and external including EPC Contractors, Owner’s Engineer etc.
- Manages and coordinates various meetings, MOM, action log, decision log, etc.
- Manages and maintains risk register.
- Manages and coordinates various reviews for obtaining comments on time from relevant Electra resources.
- Understands the project scope and monitors any changes proactively and communicates to VP of Projects.
- Communicate various reports including schedule, progress, and outstanding matters to VP of Projects.
- Coordinate change management with Project Controls Manager.
- Liaise with the Procurement team and vendors and manage delivery progress and report to VP of Projects.
- Monitor construction progress and quality and report to VP of Projects.
- Manages document management in coordination with Document Controls Manager.
- Supports in development of various plans and procedures.
- Monitors all project activities are performed in accordance with Project Execution Plan.
- Effectively communicate with the team and third parties.
- Read, understand, and comply with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
What we need you to bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a Master's degree in engineering and 15+ years of experience in Engineering, Project Controls, Project management or related.
- 4+ years of experience as a Project Engineer executing on capital projects or related
- Ability to read, develop, and interpret engineering, construction, and other technical specs, drawings, schematics, plans, and similar documents.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Teams, Bluebeam, SharePoint & other collaboration tools.
- Excellent communication skills.
- High level of accountability and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $200,000-$225,000 a year, but it may be more or less depending on skills, experience, and education.
