Job Summary

The MRO Lead will report to the Site Maintenance Manager with a liaison (dotted line) relationship and support from the Mycoworks Supply Chain Team.  The MRO Lead is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Team in maximizing equipment uptime at least cost.  This includes managing demand and replenishment for repair parts and maintenance commodities as well as accountability for maintenance assets in our production facility and off site storage location.  The successful candidate will create and maintain a system for inventory control and work to understand the highest value repair parts to maintain onsite.  They will also create contingency plans to procure and expedite high cost or other parts not in stock.  This role will work closely with and may act as a backup for the Maintenance Planning Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all MRO logistics operations, including procurement, inventory control, and distribution of maintenance supplies and parts.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure critical spares and consumables are available without overstocking.
  • Implement and maintain effective MRO inventory management systems (e.g., CMMS, ERP modules).
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to forecast MRO needs and optimize inventory usage.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Develop strategies to reduce costs while maintaining or improving service levels.
  • Track and analyze key metrics (e.g., lead time, fill rate, stock-out incidents) and generate regular performance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards in all MRO logistics activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics processes, supply chain resilience, and warehouse organization.
  • Manage all maintenance parts and assets on site and at off-site facilities for maximum accountability, visibility and good order.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
  • Must have completed an AS, BS, or technical program in Business, Project Management, Industrial Technology/Engineering, Engineering Maintenance OR be actively enrolled in and pursuing a degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience in inventory management or maintenance is a plus but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Ability to learn and use maintenance tools and equipment safely.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, noise).
Work Schedule:
  • Full-time position with potential for overtime as needed to support maintenance schedules.
  • May include rotating shifts or weekend work depending on plant requirements.
