The Policy and Regulatory Affairs team at Zoox is a cross-functional organization responsible for advancing Zoox's public policy and regulatory goals and creating a proactive safety culture across the company. At Zoox, we love cities and are eager to partner with them to solve collective transportation challenges with our fully autonomous ride hail service.

With our expansion to Miami, this exciting new role will build on our positive political reputation and help guide our local operations from testing to commercial deployment. They will represent Zoox in South Florida with cities, counties, transportation agencies, public safety agencies, other municipal entities, and business and community organizations. While the initial focus will be on Miami, there is opportunity to work with other southeastern cities as we expand, including our recent announcement of Atlanta.
This position will be based in the Miami area. Occasional travel to Zoox HQ in Foster City, CA and to other cities where we operate will also be required.
There are three major components to compensation for this position: base pay, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The pay range for this position is $144,000 to $182,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The pay range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:
Build and own the strategy for political and community engagement in the greater Miami areaDevelop and maintain relationships with local officials, their staff, regulators, and other key external stakeholdersTrack current and emerging political activity and policy developmentsRepresent Zoox at community and political eventsManage locally-based political consultantsSupport the larger policy team by developing briefings, researching legislation, and managing complex, cross-functional projectsWork closely with other teams at Zoox, including Legal, Communications, and Safety teams, to ensure up-to-date knowledge of company plans and reporting policy/political developments with analysisAs needed, support state-level policy and regulatory affairs activities in TallahasseeQualifications:
8+ years of public policy experience within government and/or relevant nonprofits, public interest groups, businesses, campaigns or industry associationsTrack record of successfully building, implementing, and evaluating complex public policy and government affairs projectsExtensive political and community understanding and network in the Miami and South Florida areaExcellent leadership, project management, and organizational skillsExperience analyzing and advocating complex policy positions before a wide variety of audiencesStrong interpersonal and organizational skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skillsBonus Qualifications:
Existing relationships with state and federal level officials and agencies in FloridaExperience managing consultants and/or small teamsPolicy knowledge related to AVs, transportation, shared/micro-mobility, or new technology development and/or bringing a new product to marketProficiency/Fluency in SpanishAdvanced Degree (J.D., MBA, MPP, MPA, etc.)
