This position will be responsible for performing receiving inspections of externally-sourced components in support of the CFS Magnet Factory. The candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of material used in the SPARC project, ensuring design intent is upheld.

This team member will:

  • Review of compliance to quality clauses
  • Visual inspections of incoming material
  • Creation of nonconformance reports as required
  • Management of inventory movements of material into and out of the quality area
  • Review of dispositioned nonconformance reports prior to close-out
  • Cross train as a QC inspector, utilizing a variety of metrology tools and gages to generate inspection reports
  • Assist the CFS calibration coordinator in maintaining an accurate asset list and organizing assets in preparation for and at the conclusion of a calibration cycle
  • The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3+ years of experience in a QC role reviewing complex documentation submissions
  • Ability to interpret material certifications and dimensional reports
  • Experience working within an established quality management system
  • Management of nonconforming materials
  • Experience working within an ERP or MES system
  • Additional experience and/or qualifications:

  • Knowledge of welding, plating, heat treatment, passivation, or other secondary processes
  • Knowledge of industry standard validation processes
  • Medical device, pharmaceutical, or aerospace background
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Perform activities such as typing, standing, and sitting, for extended periods of time
  • Dedication to safety to mitigate industrial hazards that may include heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, and cryogenics
  • Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call or long hours
