What you will do: 

As a Quality Engineer on the Operations and Supply Chain team, you will focus on designing and developing quality assurance and control methods to identify and address processing strengths and weaknesses of incoming materials and components. Most of your time will be spent creating standard operating and testing procedures, testing processes, designing quality testing methods, and defining the criteria test results should meet.  In this role you will: 

  • Establish and maintain quality requirements for raw materials and components/sub-assemblies for use in electrochemical and hydrometallurgical systems 
  • Lead test method development and validation activities for qualification and quality testing 
  • Assist in the designing and testing of our processes, mechanisms, and equipment, and development of standardized quality acceptance criteria 
  • Create inspection procedures, assist in reviewing and evaluating in-process rejections, obtain disposition, and implement corrective action as needed, as well as participate in internal quality audits 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional product design and development teams to determine capabilities and possible process failure modes for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) 
  • Develop quality standards and control systems and collaborate with technical development, operations, and engineering teams to implement and monitor improvements
  • Develop and represent Quality Assurance to work with engineering and development teams on Engineering Change Requests and Notifications (ECR/ECNs) and Design of Experiment (DOEs) procedures 
  • Develop and represent Quality Control with supplier interface and oversight of the Nonconforming Material Request (NMR) and Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) processes 
  • Establish quality and reliability standards by studying industry benchmarks and the requirements of product development and design, and define the metrics and testing required to assess performance against standards 
  • Report on Quality activities on a regular basis to Supply Chain Management and the Leadership teams, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the relevant Key Performance Indicators and continuous improvement initiative 
  • Other duties as assigned  

What we need you to bring to the team: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or Manufacturing 
  • 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Development/Scale-up, Quality or Continuous Improvement Engineering 
  • Knowledge of quality practices and procedures such as FMEA, Lean Six Sigma, Root Cause / Corrective Acton (RCCA), and DOE, including use of metrics and statistical analyses tools such as JMP 
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, functional requirements, instructions, and test procedures 
  • Familiarity with common metrology equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, and thread gages 
  • The ability to interpret mechanical drawings 
  • Familiarity with IPC, ISO, and FDA standards
  • The ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders 
  • The ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly 
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as needed 
  • The ability to adapt quickly to changing processes and responsibilities 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation:  

  • The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
