Job Summary:

MycoWorks is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Supply Chain individual to join our team as the Production Planner & Inventory Coordinator for our Innovation Center in Emeryville, CA.    

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of production planning and inventory control,  possessing excellent analytical  and problem-solving skills.  This role will contribute to the efficiency of our operations by ensuring production plans and inventory availability align with the business priorities and production capabilities.  

This role requires the ability to collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams and will be the primary liaison between the Technology Development, Operations and Supply Chain teams for Innovation Center related topics.  This individual will handle day-to-day decision-making, materials flow, and replenishment planning, ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time and in the right quality, to meet the production planning, operational, and business needs of the company.   

This role will report to the Director of Supply Chain as part of our production planning team.  This role will provide daily direction and guidance to the warehouse team.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain production schedules based on experimental forecasts, ensuring alignment of technological development and business goals.
  • Effectively communicates changes in production plans or inventory status to relevant stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational issues promptly and implement process improvements.
  • Directs inventory control, shipping, receiving, and materials storage, implementing warehouse/inventory control processes which ensure the availability of materials for an uninterrupted flow of production while maintaining inventory accuracy and targets.
  • Manage the proper movement of incoming raw materials and consumables, with a focus on internal material flow and replenishment.
  • Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within required timelines, actioning cycle counts to ensure accuracy and implement control procedures to mitigate discrepancies.
  • Analyze production and inventory data to identify trends and opportunities for improvements, making actionable recommendations to improve output and overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Generate regular reports to support decision-making processes, offering visibility into key performance indicators and operations metrics.
  • Responsible for maximizing warehouse utilization and material replenishment to production by establishing optimum store's locations, methods for handling, proximity, and visual management.
  • Coordinates disposition of damaged or obsolete material and equipment.
  • Key contributor in building processes, evaluating effectiveness, and developing/implementing continuous improvement plans.
  • Use optimization techniques and simulation tools to understand proposed changes in supply chains and production.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Procurement Teams to understand, manage, and mitigate supply chain risk.

Qualifications

  • Five years experience in production planning, materials management, and logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • BS or technical certifications such as APICS preferred. 
  • Experience with ERP systems and frameworks (Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred).
  • Experience in maintaining Supply Chain visibility tools and ERP implementation.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, data analysis and root cause analysis tools.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing demands and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and foster positive relationships within the organization.
  • Problem-solving mindset to address supply chain challenges and mitigate potential disruptions.
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Comfortable with a high-level of autonomy.
  • Robust expertise in systems and process management.
  • Highly proficient in organizational skills, capable of efficiently managing tasks and priorities.
  • Must be able to follow cleanroom policies and procedures.
  • Forklift experience preferred, not required.  Will train and certify to company standards.

The actual pay is dependent on other factors such as training, skills, work experience and business needs. The target pay range is subject to change and may be modified.
