Job Summary:

MycoWorks is seeking a person to fill the role of Materials Lead.   This person will be crucial in maintaining a streamlined and efficient supply chain, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the organization.  This role will be responsible for overseeing the storage and distribution of materials throughout the organization, initially focusing on our new facility in Union, SC before taking on other domestic locations.

This individual will handle day-to-day decision-making, ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time, in the right quality and at the right cost, to meet the production and operations needs of the company.   This includes supplier deliveries, internal replenishment programs, and movements between facilities. This person will be the primary liaison between the Operations Team and the Supply Chain Team for material flow and daily material requirements.

This is a cross-functional role that will work with all levels of leadership and will report to the Supply Chain Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage.
  • Manages material traceability through the manufacturing life cycle.
  • Manages proper movement of incoming raw materials with a focus on internal material flow and replenishment.
  • Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within required timelines.
  • Responsible for inventory reduction and maintenance initiatives.
  • Project management of material requirements for both standard and special production requirements.
  • Responsible for maximizing warehouse utilization and material replenishment to production by establishing optimum store's locations, methods for handling, proximity, and visual management.
  • Plant champion for material flow throughout the system.
  • Manages disposition of damaged or obsolete material and equipment.
  • Implement operations, logistics, and warehouse/inventory control processes which ensure the availability of materials for an uninterrupted flow of production while maintaining inventory accuracy and targets.
  • Responsible for maximizing warehouse utilization and material replenishment to production by establishing optimum store's locations, methods for handling, proximity, and visual management.
  • Key contributor in building processes, evaluating effectiveness, and developing/implementing continuous improvement plans.
  • Use optimization techniques and simulation tools to understand proposed changes in supply chains and production.
  • Work with Supply Chain and Procurement Teams to understand, manage, and mitigate supply chain risk.
  • Maintain accountability and awareness of reusable manufacturing assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Industrial Engineering with a focus on Supply Chain.
  • Experience with ERP systems and frameworks (Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred).
  • Experience in building Supply Chain visibility tools and ERP implementation.
  • Experience in buying/planning or material management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, data analysis and root cause analysis tools.
  • Must be able to follow cleanroom policies and procedures.
  • Experience with asset management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift experience preferred, not required.  Will train and certify to company standards.
