C1 develops new, climate-friendly chemical production processes by rethinking chemical reactions from the atomic level all the way up to production scale.
The first innovation to spin out of our quantum-chemistry platform is a novel, proprietary methanol catalysis. This groundbreaking technology disrupts a century old chemical production process and enables us to unlock non-fossil feedstocks for the production of green methanol.
Green methanol will play a pivotal role in the defossilization of the carbon-based chemical industry and is poised to become the alternative fuel of choice for net-zero shipping. The market for green methanol is expected to grow to appr. $200 billion per year by 2050. The resulting CO2 saving potential of green methanol is several gigatons per year (several percentage points of current global CO2 emissions).
Our aim is to realize as much of that potential as fast as possible.
Your mission
C1 Green Chemicals AG develops and scales new chemical processes from the lab to pilot scale. Our value lies in research data, patents, and exclusive catalysis IP. A robust, sovereign IT setup is therefore mission‑critical.
Our research depends on stable and secure IT operations. In this role, you are responsible for day‑to‑day IT operations at C1 Green Chemicals AG – infrastructure, security, and devices.
What you’ll do
- Own & operate our IT infrastructure: self‑hosted servers, storage, networking, backups, and availability
- Ensure data sovereignty for sensitive research and IP data
- Microsoft 365 & Azure administration: tenant, Entra ID, applications, and operations
- Device management (Intune or equivalent) for laptops & smartphones (BYOD), clean onboarding/offboarding
- Set up and operate VPNs and secure remote access
- Linux server operations, including SLURM cluster for DFT compute (WEASEL/ORCA) and tested disaster recovery
- Continuous IT security monitoring, system hardening, access control, and audit‑grade traceability
- Prepare software and infrastructure cost comparisons for management decisions
- Act as the central IT point of contact across the company
- manage AI access (tokens, budgets) and serve as an internal AI point of contact
