We are looking for a Global Supply Manager to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to sustainable procurement to help fight climate change. In this position you will be responsible for creating the commodity strategy, new supplier and technology identification, and driving cost improvement initiatives to enable Heliogen to beat the cost of fossil fuels. Responsibilities
- Proactively seek new opportunities, ideas, techniques and materials to drive product innovation with both new and existing suppliers
- Perform advanced quantitative and business process analyses to identify financial impacts of decisions, cost improvement and performance for assigned categories
- Evaluates stability and sets strategy for current and potential suppliers with regard to financial health, staffing, quality, throughput, and technical capability
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness targets are achieved eradicating and/or escalating problems efficiently both internally and externally to minimize impact on our business
- Identify part supply constraints that may impact production schedule, and create mitigation plan
- Work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support existing platforms and new product development
- Communicates with suppliers and personnel to establish clear definition of requirements, and to assure performance to purchase order terms and conditions
- Act as the supplier interface for supplier pre-qualifications, bid solicitations, bid analysis, award as recommendations and commitments, including aspects of purchase order administration
- Manage cost aggressively to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecasts
- Drive internal and external process improvements to enhance efficiency and implement cost-saving programs with suppliers
- Understands and executes work in accordance with the sourcing strategy, compliance to the Approved Suppliers List, project financing considerations, and respective tariff and quota risk
- Accountable for integrity of records management for assigned work and for ensuring supplier master data within MRP is accurate
- Develop and foster cross-functional relationships to ensure all business goals are aligned
What's Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, Economics/Finance, or similar
- 7+ years of demonstrated success in strategic sourcing role
- Strong knowledge of contract structures, contract negotiations, and contract implementation
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Experience breaking down cost models and identifying key drivers
- Strong analytical skills; MS Excel proficient, financial modeling preferred
- Proven ability to onboard and contract pricing agreements with suppliers
- Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience
- Experience in sourcing from a global supply base using various contractual models
- Proven success working on cross-functional new product introduction projects, completing cost models, and negotiating
- Ability to influence actions/decisions of internal stakeholders, as well as suppliers
- Able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally (when current environment permits)
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
Desirable Experience:
- Oracle Experience
- Prior experience in rapid growth environment
- CPM, CSCP certification or equivalent
- Project Management Experience
- Six sigma/lean process improvement experience
- Proficient in SQL
California only full-time salary range between $90,000 - $160,000 + equity + benefits.
