About this role:
Join Heliogen as a General Ledger Accountant reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager. You will perform daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting tasks in support of Heliogen’s mission, while maintaining a strong focus on personal and professional development in the areas of accounting and internal controls.
In this role, you will:
- Analyze transactions and record journal entries in areas including, but not limited to payroll, inventory, accruals, cash & investments, concur (employee expense reports) and equity
- Maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded and contain the proper support
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations over assigned general ledger accounts
- Update and develop process documentation for assigned tasks
- Proactively exhibit accountability for areas of responsibility and pursue process improvements
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders on core responsibilities and special projects
- Support the Senior Accounting Manager with quarterly and annual audit requests
- Ad hoc reports & analysis, special projects as assigned
What's essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent practical work experience
- 2+ years of professional accounting experience
- Public company experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP & SOX
- Experience preparing and posting journal entries
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Strong organization and communication skills
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion and related modules
