Natron seeks a General Manager / Manufacturing Site Leader. This person will create, staff, ramp and direct all plant operations for Natron’s Holland Michigan manufacturing facility while reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer. 

The person for this position has significant prior experience leading operations in a company that manufactures Li-ion electrodes / cells or alternately uses roll coating processes that involve ink formulation and tape casting at high volume.  Strong candidates will have prior experience building world-class manufacturing team(s) from scratch.  As General Manager, this person will work with the company’s leadership team to develop, create, and execute manufacturing roadmap(s) resulting in high-quality, low-cost battery cell and final battery system products.  As Site Leader, this person will be responsible for all Government and supply chain partnerships.  The person for this position has a passion for hands-on team building, does what it takes to make the whole team successful, and holds themselves and their team to a world-class standard for excellence.

Responsibilites:

  • Direct and manage daily plant operations for production, maintenance, facilities, quality, engineering, and all other related activities
  • Develop, meet / exceed production and financial targets
  • Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
  • Champions EHS first and good housekeeping programs
  • Develop and implement continuous cost, quality, and output improvement roadmaps
  • Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment
  • Hire and train high performing workforce from 20 to 150+
  • Evaluate and improve team performance and productivity
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
  • Develop relationships with local government officials to ensure compliance with grant requirements and local ordinances
  • Work with supply chain teams to ensure quality standards and on time delivery
  • Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technically related field.
  • MBA or Advance Technical Degree Preferred
  • 10+ years plant/general management experience in a high-tech manufacturing production environment
  • Li-ion battery electrode and cell manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Greenfield manufacturing plant start-up leadership experience, concept to full ramped production in less than 2 years
  • Deep understanding and commitment to statistically driven decision-making including process and quality control. Able to teach and enforce this across their organization. Understands and actively practices modern DOE techniques to accelerate process validation (Taguchi, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of budgets and financial statements
  • Expert in Lean manufacturing methods and process improvement
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with all levels of the organization
  • Provides hands-on leadership and training to accomplish Natron goals and objectives
  • Attracts, challenges, and develops high-performance talent with diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Ability to partner with and influence external stakeholders including local government, state government, and supply chain partners
  • Logistics:

  • Regular, full time position.
  • On-site in Holland Michigan.
  • Capable of relocating to Holland Michigan on a timely basis (if applicable)
