About the Role:

Loam Bio is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the FP&A Manager will lead the financial forecasting and analysis activities, providing insights to drive strategic business decisions and supporting the company's continued growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support accurate and timely reporting and forecasting.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends and patterns, and interpret key financial metrics.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, highlighting key findings and actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data and insights for forecasting and analysis.
  • Provide guidance and support to business leaders in developing financial strategies and driving performance improvements.
  • Monitor and evaluate business performance against financial targets, identifying areas of improvement and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for board meetings, investor communications, and other high-level discussions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, economic developments, and best practices in FP&A to continuously enhance forecasting accuracy and analysis techniques.
  • Supervise and develop a team of financial analysts, providing coaching and mentoring to support their growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial concepts, metrics, and accounting principles.
  • Proven track record in developing accurate financial forecasts and insightful analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, capable of effectively conveying complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience with financial planning software or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate financial insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and mentoring junior team members.
