About the company:

Gravitricity develops long-life underground technologies that help solve the problem of intermittent renewable energy by storing excess energy during periods of low demand and releasing it back when required.

Our innovative energy storage solutions include: fast-response, long-life gravity energy storage and flexible hydrogen storage which is designed to store large quantities of green hydrogen underground.

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in our small team. The right

require a very strong engineering understanding and clear organisational view to take responsibility from
early-stage conceptual design through to detailed design of systems and components. You will have to learn
fast and be willing to work in a wide range of company areas, sometimes far outside your core expertise.
We are a small but growing team, working closely together and with a range of external companies and
consultants, so a collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit is crucial along with great interpersonal and
communication skills.

Requirements
• Mechanical engineering experience in industry (minimum 3 years)
• Very good understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals
• Strong, well-tested detailed design skills
• Experience of working with steel structures to recognised design codes or standards (e.g. Eurocode,
DNVGL, etc)
• Capabilities with 3D CAD software
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Beneficial Skills
• Track record in the heavy lifting or mining sectors
• Stress analysis of fabricated structures and FEA experience desirable
• An understanding of the factors affecting the development of modern power systems
• Site experience: organising and running sub-contractors, site HSE and commissioning/testing
documentation
Benefits
▪ Chance to make a significant impact within a small and dynamic company developing a technology
vital for the global energy transition.
▪ Competitive salary dependent on experience
▪ Modern, flexible company: all staff given option to work 4-day week (pro rata)
▪ 6% employer pension contribution
▪ EMI options scheme
Application
We are a small company, actively building a diverse and passionate team, and encourage anybody with
enthusiasm and know-how to apply, irrespective of your background.
In order to apply please send a CV and a cover letter, explaining why you would be motivated to work with
us to [email protected] .
