As Engineering Manager (f/m/d) you will lead a cross-functional engineering squad. Together with your squad, you drive the scaling of our product and have an impact on our users, our organization, and our engineering practices. You work in a management team together with other Engineering Managers, as well as the Engineering Director and VP Engineering.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • You coach, mentor and help your direct reports to grow as engineers through 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
  • You work closely with the squad, Product Owner and further stakeholders and orchestrate the process of refining the product and technical roadmap
  • You steer and monitor the delivery of software in the squad in an agile working environment and enable your squad to deliver software of high value in an efficient and consistent way
  • You develop the squad by identifying and attracting talent during the recruiting process and shape the individual growth paths of your direct reports
  • You incorporate your technical knowledge over code reviews and sparring on technical concepts
  • You shape engineering practices by contributing your ideas in technical or organizational projects in the department

What you need to succeed

  • You have a proven skillset to lead and manage a cross-functional group of Software Engineers and are comfortable to apply this for a wide range of engineer skill levels (from Junior to Staff Engineer)
  • You have strong experience in the development of web applications and are familiar with all relevant domains, incl. distributed / containerized systems or microservices
  • You work with best practices in Software Engineering and Squad management in an agile, product-oriented environment
  • You are experienced in growing and forming a diverse team by recruiting and subsequent teambuilding 
  • You have excellent communication skills and are motivated to coach Engineers on their personal and professional growth path
  • You are familiar with parts of our tech stack and are confident to work with it
  • You are business-fluent in English (Level C1/C2)
