Smappee is in search of an Electronics Repair Engineer to join our supply chain team. As an Electronics Repair Engineer you will form a crucial factor to further enhance our innovative products. You'll play a pivotal part in assessing, repairing, and ensuring the quality of a diverse range of EV charging solutions.
Responsibilities
- Visual inspection, Test and Evaluation: Analyze failed electronic products, devices, and circuit boards to determine which components can be salvaged or need replacement.
- Quality Control: Assess items that were rejected during testing, examining whether the rejections were justified. Investigate if failures are isolated incidents or systematic issues.
- Repair Expertise: Repair and restore electronics, with a special focus on soldering techniques, to extend the life and functionality of devices.
- RMA Management: Handle returned products from customers (RMAs) and determine if they can be repaired, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Legacy Product Support: Tackle cases where products are out of warranty, providing the only solution through our repair expertise.
- Product Refurbishment: Explore the possibility of refurbishing products for future use.
- Product Failure Analysis: Investigate complete products to understand the root causes of failure and implement preventive measures.
- Continuous improvement: Continuously improve repair processes and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Prototyping & industrialization: participate in the assembly of new product prototype and pilot series from a Design for Repair (DfR) point of view and potentially take on additional tasks.
Requirements
- Experience in repairing electronic devices and/or printed circuit boards.
- Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuit boards, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment for testing and repair.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Understanding of quality control processes and the ability to ensure that repaired electronics meet specified quality standards.
